“Aggressors, Victims, and Bystanders” is a pilot bullying program being taught at Workman Middle School in Pensacola during the 2005-2006 school year. The course teaches 7th graders that they can work through their problems without resorting to violence. The course shows students how they should participate in conflict resolution related to bullying as aggressors, victims, and bystanders. Aggressors, Victims, and Bystanders teaches students how to look at problems from all perspectives. It’s important for students to learn that their choices and actions can alleviate problems and prevent bullying. This course teaches students that even bystanders play a part in preventing problems. The course may be taught once a week for twelve weeks to students during their Personal Development course block. For more information contact CDAC at

Teaching Students Non-Violence |
|
Over 950,000 students across America take a weapon to school each month, and gun violence kills 8 children and teens every day. One out of four students will be affected by violence this year. With violence in schools on the rise and bullying becoming a more common problem among girls and commonly associated with boys, CDAC is teaching our area students violence prevention and healthy, peaceful, conflict resolution. Funding is provided by Escambia County Schools. |
