Recovering from an addiction to drugs or alcohol can be a very lonely journey. Hopelessness, despair and failure can lie ahead for the woman who tries to go at it alone. Her success depends on her willingness to accept help from people who know what she’s dealing with—and who care enough to help her. We’re those people. The staff at WISE and WTC can help women find their way through the physical and emotional turmoil of substance abuse and violence. Program ServicesWISE and WTC provide comprehensive support based on the needs of each individual woman. Some services include: *Case Management and Advocacy *Parenting Skills Training *Financial Management *Relapse Prevention *Evaluation and Assessment *Intervention and Referral to Treatment *Referral to and Coordination of Prenatal Care *Life Management and Skills Training *Transportation Assistance *Education and Career Assistance *Support Groups
Who Can Become a Client?Any woman who : * Is pregnant, or has a child under the age of 5 and has a drug or alcohol problem or * Has a drug or alcohol problem and is completing or has completed a treatment program, or is currently involved in a County Drug Court Program Women must also be a resident of Escambia, Santa Rosa, Walton, or Okaloosa County.
Sweet Success…..WISE has many success stories of brave women who have turned their life around because of this program. Within a year of becoming a client over half the women are employed or are attending school. Many clients have regained custody of their children after working through their substance abuse problems. This program also allows opportunities for self sufficiency by assisting women in finding affordable drug-free housing and offering education and career opportunities. For many women WISE is their only chance at leading a drug free and productive life.
Many graduates agree that joining the program was the most “WISE” decision they ever made.
