The Resident Advisory Council

A key component of the program is the Resident Advisory Council, made up of parents and community leaders in the 32505 zip code. 

The members focus on creating awareness and preventing child abuse and neglect. 

The Council also plans and implements programs that encourage family bonding and safe, violence-free homes. 

Ensuring Safe Violence-Free Families and Homes

Neighborhood Partnership is a child protection program utilizing community resources. 

Partnerships have been created within the zip code of 32505 that link child protection service agents with parents, community residents, schools, faith organizations, and other social service providers. 

Community Child Protection

The core principles of the community child protection  are based on fact that no one entity, working alone, can protect children. 

Services to children should be individualized to meet their specific needs, and be available to families at earlier problem stages.

Family Services:

Family Support Services

* Directed towards families as a preventative measure before child abuse or neglect occurs.

*  Families choose to attend parent education sessions and participate in community activities that promote safe and stable homes.

* Includes parent education, family  counseling, Family Empowerment, and additional support services

Family Preservation Services

* Directed towards families involved with         the Department of Children and Families  (DCF) and/or the Family First Network.

* Children have not been removed for abuse    and/or neglect.

* Services are provided in order to maintain the family as a unit.

* Includes counseling, parent education, case management, family empowerment

Family Reunification Services

* Directed towards families involved with the Department of Children and Families (DCF) and/or the Family First  Network.

* When children have been removed from the home because of abuse and/or neglect

* Assists parents in regaining custody

* Includes counseling, parent education, family activities, and case management.
