Art students from high schools in Escambia and Santa Rosa Counties recently met under the direction of Pensacola High School art teacher Andrea Cain to develop the logo for the 2007 Project Graduation celebration. The students participating in the logo development were: Jazzmyn Howingont and Ashley Colvin, Navarre High School; Lindsey Lauter and Brandon Walker, Northview High School; Ashley Massie and Nick Doria, Washington High School; and Amanda Corpuz, Pensacola High School. Local students get together each year to develop the theme and logo that will be displayed on all Project Graduation shirts and materials. The Community Drug and Alcohol Council, Inc. (CDAC) provides technical assistance to all Project Graduation planning committees at participating high schools. This is the seventh year that Cain has volunteered her time and talents to the activity. |

Project Graduation celebrations are all-night, drug and alcohol-free events provided for seniors on graduation night. This is the 22nd year local schools have celebrated Project Graduation. Previous Project Graduation celebrations have been held at Big Kahuna’s, Sam’s Fun City, University of West Florida and Corry Station Naval Base. Activities included Karaoke, live music, rock-climbing and carnival games. Special guests and entertainers have been invited including boxing great and Pensacola native, Roy Jones Jr. and 3-D. The Community Drug and Alcohol Council, Inc.
