Helping Students Communicate

Peer Mediation teaches students how to problem solve in an appropriate manner and communicate effectively.

The program is made up of about 20 mediators in each of the 11 participating schools in Escambia County. The mediators are available to students who request assistance with a conflict.

Peer mediators do not give advice or take sides. They help empower the conflicting students to find peaceful solutions. Peer Mediation usually handles issues such as problems with rumors, relationship issues, name calling, and fights or arguments with fellow peers.
