Sexual Assault Issues:

· Sexual assault occurring because of these drugs is hard to prosecute because victims may not be aware they ingested a drug.

· Drugs can cause amnesia causing the victim to be unaware of an attack until 8-12 hours after it happened.

· The drugs leave the body quickly, leaving little or no trace for evidence.

Never…

 

· Leave a drink unattended.

 

· Let someone else buy you a drink or give you a drink that is opened.

 

· Let anyone you don’t know open your drink or watch your drink if you leave the table.

 

 

Remember…

· You are more vulnerable when drinking and less capable of making sound decisions.

· Plan ahead to protect yourself and one another.

· Illegal drugs that when taken make the victim unaware, unconscious, and unable to defend themselves.

· Can be given in clubs, parties, anywhere.

· Undetectable when mixed into drinks and act quickly to put victim in helpless state.

· Substances such as Rohypnol, Ketamine, and GHB.
