Savvy Parents are Cracking the Secret Code

When young people talk about alcohol, other drugs, and violence they may use coded/slang words.

The Savvy Parent knows what the latest slang terms are!

Drugs

Ever hear a reference to 4:20 (four-twenty)? This is a “secret code” for a time to smoke marijuana. Some youth even designate April 20th as “National Pot Smoking Day.”

Lean, Robo-tripping, Purple Stuff—all codes for a dangerous new trend of getting high off cough syrup.

This is just the start of what’s out there. Get the whole updated list here.

Gangs

Gangs are a concern even in our area.  Members commit crimes that can land youth in jail - or even worse.
